The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) works collaboratively in over 70 countries, remaining on the forefront of translating scientific discoveries into policies and practices that are aimed at improving the health and quality of life of the world’s poorest people. In line with its mission to “reduce the burden of sickness and mortality in disease endemic countries through the delivery of effective interventions which improve human health and are relevant to the poorest communities,” researchers in its parasitology and vector biology departments are developing novel drugs and diagnostics to address neglected tropical diseases, as well as using their discoveries to improve the control of vector-borne diseases in the developing world.
